Matias Luoto is a guitarist who was born in Nastola, Finland. In high school he found his love for jazz music and after that there was no going back. He has graduated from Central Ostrobothnia Conservatory, where his teachers were such as Sami Linna and Teemu Viinikainen and Mikko Pellinen.
As a guitarist Matias wants always more. He is constantly searching for new information and inspiration. In his compositions you can hear his Scandinavian roots and the love for odd meters.
At the moment he is studying at the JAMK University of Applied Sciences with guitar as his main instrument. This year he has been studying as an exchange student at the Prins Claus Conservatory’s jazz department’s ”New York comes to Groningen program” with teachers like Jonathan Kreisberg, Joe Magnarelli, Michael Mossman, Freddie Bryandt, David Berkman and many more.
